What is interesting here to me is that a regular guy, a musician, was able to get a CHL in Detroit. Has the law changed there?
Oh. My mistake. He open carried. Open carry is legal in Detroit?!

There is no law prohibiting open carry in Michigan. There are several places that you can NOT carry openly unless you have a CPL.
If you plan to visit Michigan please research then laws to save yourself some grief.
There are some leos that get pushy on the subject of open carry and will look for a reason to jam you up.
