RC Aircraft...The big ones...

This is at a rc event couple years ago, not me flying but this is the type of planes I fly. You can expect to have about 3000-4000 in a plane like this if you buy it all brand new. I like to buy used and get better deals I just purchased plane in picture for $300 new everything would been about $1000 it's 6 ft long and 74 inch wingspan

Do you do aerobatic flying? Looks like that's what the bird is designed for.

Have a lake nearby so you could do a water take off and landing.:)

If they make RV planes that big, I wonder why they don't just make one big enough for somebody to pilot or ride in them.

In Europe, it's far too expensive and too much red tape to have much General Aviation activity. This is probably as close as most will get.

About 30 years ago or so I got to tour the Spruce Goose next to the Queen Elizabeth II in LA...I guess a lot of people did. I think they moved it...

The radial on that Corsair sounds eerily like one of the big Pratt & Whitney engines, especially on starting.
That thing sounds awesome. I love how 4 strokes and gas planes sound this is a short clip of my 30cc running was testing it after making a change to the tank

I've worked on lots of F4's, C's, D's, and E's...But this one is marked Navy so I'm guessing it's a J? Flies better than a real one...

How in the world does a pilot control that stealth job without the computer and software controls? He must be REALLY busy at those controls. I guess Kelly Johnson's Flying Wings were flyable, just unstable.

Here's the technical details...

There's popular RC club down the road from me, and they hold regular "fly ins." Every so often when I drive by, somebody is putting a big un in the air. Very impressive. Sometimes I have to to look twice to make sure it's not a crop duster . . .

So do you still think guns are expensive?
All Hobby's can be but I paid $280 for my last gun. That might buy the motor for one of the gas planes. But yeah it adds up quick. Almost anyone can fire a gun. Rc planes takes practice otherwise your brand new plane will be a pile of trash in seconds

And sadly, there are a few hard landings...That Coast Guard C-130 was a heartbreaker...

To finish off this Thread, to me the most impressive model of all...Guy Driving this thing absolutely nailed the landing, which had to be very difficult.
