RCMP marked Model 10

Anyone have any further info on an S&W model 10-9, 5 inch SB, blue finish, marked RCMP-GRC on left frame under cylinder.
Box is marked "Special" and revolver has lanyard ring.
Was told that is was a contract over-run sold here in US. Revolver is NIB

I sounds like it was never exported. GRC is french for RCMP. I don't think any of these were exported or even released to the Canadian public. When the RCMP changed guns I was the happy recipient of a fair bit of 38spl when guys cleaned out their lockers.

A 5" Model 10 with a lanyard swivel was standard issue with the RCMP for decades. I've never heard of, or seen any of these over-runs up here. Congrats on a great purchase. Please post some pic's of the revolver and box.
