Re Posting this thread. Please do some of the work.

I've always gotten good advice and information from Bubba.
I'm tired of people trashing Bubba.:(

I hear ya'. I'm Appalachian and proud of it!
It seems that hillbillies and rednecks are the only two groups that everyone can freely make fun of without fear of retribution from the NAACP/ACLU/WLF/PETA, etc.

I love it when these folks ask "If you only had one powder available to load .38 Special, .44 Special and .45 ACP what would you use?" on various forums and then get miffed when 90% of the responders say Unique. They post a question with an obvious answer then want to argue their point of view that Superwonder #666 is the best powder for the job.

I just found my Speer #9 today. It was missing for a while. Actually, when some of us started loading ammo, nobody had a computer at home. Hell, there was nobody to ask. Out came the manuals. And that worked, didn't it ?? enjoy Mike

Well, it seems that SOMEONE is listening, Rule! Yeah, there have been more 2 and 3 year old dead threads coming back to life since you posted this thread than in the whole time I have been on this forum!

HAHAHA ;)

some observations regarding searching the forum

First off - good thread, rule - its good to get put on the right track, every now and then

I've had mixed success using the search feature on the forum page.
Choosing "Search Forums" and "show threads" and keyword such as "125 gr 38 special load", without quotes provides 20 pages of 500 results - you might as well have searched for "gun" - however, using quotes provides only 1 result - with my experience neither are productive

Using the advanced search / by keyword without quotes gives much narrowed results - very productive

Using the Search Site / Google option gives many pages of results, but the "close matches" to the keyword are at the top of the results

Using the Google webpage with boolean operators
provides very good results and many link back to this forum - go figure!

Also, I've found that once finding a thread regarding your search, the similar threads at the bottom are very helpful - often tripling and quadrupling thread post results.

One thing that would be very helpful to the newbies - like me
from the "professors" on this forum - is to offer some keyword pointers as replies initially - such as: "try searching "boatbum101 and Model 52" - it would save everybody a lot of time.

My little 2 cents of fun!
OP: "I am thinking about getting into reloading, what press should I buy?"
Reply: get a Dillon Super 105 - done! nothing else out there - period!!!!!

thanks to all, great forum, great guys here
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Check Brian Enos websitefor "Which Dillon."

Check ultimatereloader website for various manufacturer models and VIDEOS of them.

All Reloaders should also, have a Single Stage even if they choose a PROGRESSIVE type press.

You must be AN ATTENTIVE TYPE PERSON and be able to

FOLLOW DIRECTIONS EXACTLY or reloading can be dangerous to yours and others health.

If helping out a new guy with some questions and answers is too much trouble, then just ignore it and let someone else do it. Go back and read some of the condescending answers given to legitimate questions; it is sickening.

I wish there had been an internet forum like this (but without some of the know-it-all posters in this thread) when I started loading years ago. I had a loading manual, but there was some bad load data in it (Speer). I ended up wrecking a Model 19-3.

Warren, I want to ask you a question. How did you end up wrecking your M19? Were you following the loading instructions in the front of the manual? Almost all of them, the old Speer manuals 5-8, do for sure, have good reloading practices right in the front of them. Checking for pressure signs and all of that. Staring low and working up, all of that.

This is not condescending at all nor is it to ridicule you or anyone else for that matter BUT, no manual can cause you to wreck a gun, none. Even in my case, it was my own fault. I didn't start low and work up. I went right to the top of the data which was too much for my firearm. If you ruined your M19-3, I would rather think that you MIGHT have skipped a step or two too. Just my opinion.

No one said anything about not helping out anyone!! New or old timer. I did not write the original article but did re post it as it pertains to some questions that are posted here in this section. Go back and read the majority of my posts, I have offered help to a lot of folks and followed up on it, Hell I even tested some loads for a few and chronograph them.

I am not going to post some examples of questions that are just plan LAZY as it was not my intent to insult anyone.

All that's asked is for the poster to do a little research on their own before posting a question that is easily answered in any manual. Better yet get 3 manuals and cross reference them along with the powder companies data. Had you done that maybe your M 19 would not have been ruined, but of course it was the manuals fault.

I want some "Nuclear Fusion #3" but I bet you have to use a magnum primer to make it really nuclear! :p

Rule3 clearly said this was not aimed at anyone and he has helped everyone who asked for help, even the very simple questions that could easily be found in any manual. He's talking about the 18 to 20 something crowd who are used to finding everything on youtube without doing any research at all. you know, the "NOW" generation but I don't want to do any work for it. (also know as the entitlement generation) He never said he wasn't going to help everyone who asks...

Pshaw. Like anyone can find uranium based magnum primers in this buying frenzy.
