Reacher series on Amazon Prime

As a fan of the books, the Cruise movies were entertaining, but the character wasn't Reacher...

I'm looking forward to the Amazon series, I just hope they got it a lot better than the Jack Ryan series. I know it can be done... Bosch is fantastic, and very true to the character in the books.

Also a big Reacher fan and have read about 75% of the books. Coincidentally saw the trailer for "Killing Floor" while reading the book. Can't wait to see if the Amazon series stays true to the Novels. Lee Childs is a great writer. I almost cancelled my Amazon Prime until I saw the Reacher series was coming up. Cruise was not the Jack Reacher portrayed in the novels.

It will be interesting to see if the Prime series "Killing Floor" has Reacher using the 44 Mag Desert Eagle with a 14" barrel he uses in the book against the guys that carry Ithaca 10 gage shotguns.

Can't wait. Re read "Killing Floor" and had to keep reading the rest of the series again. Am up to "Without Fail" now. I have all of the Reacher novels on Kindle now.

My thought seeing the trailer was that Amazon Reacher was a lot less droll than the book Reacher. Could be a good series if they don't make it too "campy".

I agree with those who slam on Cruise compared to the Reacher described in the book. That said, it's Hollywood. Who'd have thought that Fez from "That 70's Show" would morph into a hotshot special agent on "NCIS."

Amazon had it on early last night (2/3/22). Stayed up past midnight watching the first three episodes. Not too bad at all. I noticed through the first three each had a different writer and director. Had good supporting actors which always helps.

Wife and I are planning to start the series tonight. Looking forward to it.

Well, in watching the official
trailer to promote the show
I learned something when
Jack Reacher says, "Bullets
were 95 grain. That's subsonic."

Not only entertaining but it's
going to be educational.

Maybe there's a new super-secret .22 LR round in 95 grains.... ?? :)

Watched the first 4 episodes last night. Probably the closest to the actual book that I have ever seen in a series. The "Reacher" character is far better that Cruise was.

Sun, 2/6/22
Well, we watched the rest of the sessions last night and it continued to follow the book (in general). Ending was a little questionable, flashbacks, or indicating future issues?

Just watched the first episode and I’m all in.

I liked the lead (Ritchson) in a fairly obscure, little seen SYFY series called Blood Drive a couple of years ago. Glad to see him back.

We watched several episodes last night. It was entertaining. I thought the acting was better than the script - quite a few plot holes and inconsistencies. The main character certainly looks more like my vision of Reacher.
If it has additional seasons I hope they a get a larger production budget. It had kind of a low budget feel. Although they did rent a Bentley
They are true to the book in one respect that that always bothered me and that is that Reacher can defeat an unlimited number of foes simultaneously in H2H combat. Although last night he did admit that some of them gave him more trouble than he expected.

Cruise made a good movie. It just had nothing to do with Jack Reacher except for the line in the bar when the bad guy wanted to pay his tab after the fight and Reacher said, "you won't be able to".
