Rear Sight Set Screw Adjustment

Today during IDPA competition, the rear sight on my M&P Pro came loose. Needless to say it was a really bad day for me score wise. I came home and put lock tite on the set screw and tightened it. It really went way down in the slide. I looked at my other M&P9 and the set screw is about flush with the top of the slide. Do I have a problem??

Is there a pilot hole that it is supposed to go down into?

I didn't remove the sight so I don't know. I have been searching for a scematic of the gun to see for sure but can't find one.
