Hey guys, I'm new to this forum. I just picked up a 9mm Sigma and am wondering about the rear sight. I never noticed until after I got it home how easily the rear sight slides from side to side. Is this normal? Also, what is the best way to get it to stay in one spot without it being completely permanent (ie super glue)?

I just checked it out... No there's no set screw anywhere on it... Kinda cheap in my opinion. I guess it'll be locktite...

Guess you could drill & tap it for a set screw. It's plastic, so you won't be able to torque down on it too much tho.

Or use a center punch in the dove tail cut on the slide to raise a little metal.

You could also send it back to S&W for warranty if it is moving around when you fire it. A simple way to determine if it is moving is to mark the sight and slide with a straight line, fire it and if the lines move you have a problem.

Take it to the range and shoot it. If it hits POA put a drop of blue locktite where it can run under the sight. If it doesn,t hit POA adjust until necessary and then apply the locktite.

My brand new Sigma doesn't have a screw either, but the rear sight seems tight. QUESTION: what's the best way to adjust the rear sight if it doesn't have a screw? It doesn't seem to push very easily. if any at all.
