I received a "safety alert" from Smith and Wesson via snail mail today (Sept 20) for my M&P Shield trigger.

I didn't learn anything new, but I appreciate S&W is making sure their product is safe.

I also got my S&W letter today but I had already checked it myself (GTG) and just a few days after the ALERT was issued I got a call from my LGS that sold me the Shield asking me to bring it in for their inspection-which I did. Gotta love that store, still GTG.
The letter is now in my original S&W cardboard  box for documentation purposes just in case the trigger goes haywire in the future.

Got a letter Sept. 19. My 40 Shield passed the "test".

Received letter today 9 mm purchased in February passed the test

Got one today as well. Most interesting thing was that it came to me at my current address that I just moved to. I had registered the gun two addresses ago. It wasn't forwarded by USPS. I'm real curious how S&W got the new address?

NSA tracked you down!!

Got 2 in the mail yesterday, 9-20. Nice to see that S&W is getting the safety alert out to everyone in case the ones that are not on the computer has no knowledge of the alert. Both of my Shield 9's passed.

Friends, John

Wish I could get S&W to send me an RMA for my affected shield. When I call them again on Monday it'll be the 4th time I've called requesting a return label for service. So far I've asked for it to be mailed, and the second two times I called I asked for them to email it (since email wasn't offered the first time). I was told 2 weeks for the snail mail version and 3-5 days for the email version. Haven't received anything...

I've emailed as well and can't even get a response. Guess I'll just keep pestering them. You'd think if it was a big enough deal to issue a safety notice, they'd handle it faster.

It took right at 1 1/2 weeks for me to receive my mailing label by email. Once I sent it off it was two weeks door to door to get it back.

Got mine on Saturday. Already went through the test way before I got the snail mail. Luckily mine passed cause I really didn't want to have to send it in and have my primary carry be gone for who knows how many weeks.
