As stated here earlier, I have been looking for holster for 4" MOD 29 and 5" MOD 27 to wear while riding horses on my ranch. I have been using a custom made flapper for 40 years . I wanted a holster that seated the revolver deep enough that it was secure while galloping or riding through brush. My good friend Daniel Uptmor at UPTMOR SADDLERY 5 miles from my ranch has hired a guy named Rodney recently who is a great holster maker. I designed what I wanted with his help . I picked it up today and am EXTREMELY happy. Price was $150.

Very nice, I like a holster that will be used in the outdoors to have as much coverage of the gun as possible. Something like a Threeperson seems like it would subject a gun to a lot of unneeded wear and tear.

That's $150 well-spent. I've always been amazed at what the leather people can do, as well as custom woodworkers. I'd like a nice holster for my 629-6, 6", but, alas, I don't have any acreage to ride the horse I also don't have! I found out the nylon holster I bought for my 6" GP100 fits my 629 perfect, so I bought one of those. Way less than the $150 leather holster! I've got that bright red Ruger logo pretty much blacked out with black marker but if I have reason to carry that .44 around the streets of Pittsburgh, I can now!
Thanks for sharing!
