I can't help with any of those, but I recently put a Holosun 407C on my 41. I hope to finally get to the range with it this weekend. I put a 507C on my M&P 10mm several months ago and really liked it, so I decided to stick with Holosun.

Made some upgrades to my Model 41

I'm not going to recommend a brand or model but ask questions. Can the battery be replaced without removing the sight? Are the sight adjustments by click or unlock, adjust, relock? Are the adjustment easily readable? Do you have to cycle through the brightness adjustments or is there a plus/minus button? Is there a mount for the model 41? How big a dot do you want? What color dot? what's your budget?

You are not likely to get everything you want and probably have to compromise some features. For example, I have a Leupold Delta Point. It's and excellent red dot but I don't like having to cycle through the brightness adjustment to go one step brighter or dimmer.

I've got a pair of burris ff3s and like them alot. You can access the battery from the top and brightness is no problem. I do wish it had auto on/off. I love it on my 41 but also like it on my .45 pcc's. I also had it on a custom Woodsman I built.

I can't say enough good things about the Ultradot for target shooting.

It is very popular in Bullseye circles.

I have two M41s set up with them and couldn't be happier.

I currently have seven UltraDots on various Bullseye guns (one on a M41), including two that are mounted on the slide of my .45s where they obviously take a pretty good beating on every shot. I've never had a lick of trouble with any of them, and the first one I got is something like 20 years old now. Can't recommend them highly enough.

For a 41 I would go with an UltraDot.

While they are good optics for what they are designed for, the Burris and Leupold mentioned would not be things I would put on a target pistol.

I don't understand why anyone would recommend against the DeltaPoint Pro for competition shooting, I have five of them and I only shoot target competitions and they are a superb sight. I have one on my Model 41 and it is flawless, easy to acquire, light weight and very convenient. Cycling through the brightness settings is not an issue.

I'd prefer to fit one of the custom mounts available in the US but no one will ship them to Oz so I've modified a weaver mount and it works well.

I also have one on my Tanfoglio Gold Match Extreme, on my S&W 686, my Walther PPQ Q5 Match, Ruger MkIV 22/45.

Oh boy now i'm confused again . I like both these sights. LOL

You really need to try them yourself to see what suits you best. I tried quite a few different types and brands of red dot before settling on the DeltaPoint Pro. I am not anti any other sight but I am definitely very pro DPP for my own use.

One of the guys at our club swore black and blue that reflex sights like the DPP picked up glare that his UltraDot did not pick up. But when I had a shoot with his firearm and got to compare the UltraDot in exactly the same conditions as my DPP I found the opposite, the UltraDot picked up glare that the DPP did not.

It turned out that he'd never actually shot with a Delta Point Pro and had been telling new shooters for years something that he'd just assumed because of the "appearance" and style of the DPP.

I'm not familiar with the Delta Point, but made by Leupold it should be 1ST rate. I am very familiar with Burris, both FF2 and FF3. The FF2 does require removal to change the battery (every few years depending on how much you shoot), but the one time I did replace a battery on the FF2 I benched it and the POI had not changed at all. Mounted on a 617-6 with an Alchin mount. The FF3 is adjustable for dot intensity (which I like), and the battery is changed W/O removal. I'm still on the same battery I installed when bought 5 years ago.

I do recommend you select the dot size for the type of shooting you are going to do. Bullseye you are fine with a 3MO but action pistol is difficult to find outdoors on target so I recommend a 6 MOA.

I shoot NRA Action Match comp's, Steel Challenge etc with 2.5MOA. 6MOA might be fine for IPSC where you're up close shooting plates but when you're shooting paper, particularly when you start moving back - ie beyond 10 metres, you really want the smaller dot.

I have a Model 41 and like a lot of old phartes struggle with iron sights even with glasses made for being able to see both my sights and the target with decent clarity. I wanted to try an optic sight but not being familiar with them and not knowing how I would like it I went with an affordable Bushnell RSX-100 (if I recall the model number correctly). I liked it and it works well so I never upgraded. MidwayUSA has them on sale for $99.99 from a normal price of $149.99 right now. I used a Weaver Model 62 rail with its length cut down to the size of the sight's base to mount it. Two of the pre-drilled mounting holes line right up with the slide's mounting holes.

I use a Sig Sauer Romeo on my Model 41 that is my current No. 1 bullseye gun. You can see it in my thread "Rehab with Model 41." The battery well is readily accessable, the sight adjustments work by click, and the price in my mind was reasonable. From personal experience and choice I use a green dot. The brightness is controlled by a dial that sets firmly at each point. Good luck.
