Red dot optics?

On another note, I see these red dots are available in 3.25 and 6.5. Also on some models in green and orange. What do you guys recommend for indoor 25 yard ranges? Occasionally outside? I'm 70 with fairly good eyes.
Maybe I should have started a new thread?

For close up and personal a bigger MOA is easier and faster to acquire. For longer distance a smaller MOA obscures less of the target.

A good compromise is the triangle where you use the tip for long range work and the center for closer or rapid acquisition shots. So once you get it dialed in it it can act as a bullet drop compensator. Colors are what works best with your eyes but some tritium colors last longer than others. Tritium is a radioactive isotope and has a half-life of 10-12 years.

14indy, I got the 3 MOA RMR 06 and I am happy with that. I wanted to be able to have some fun with 50 yd + shots at the range with my .40. Even with the 3 MOA it is starting to obscure the target beyond that. And the 3 MOA is fine for me up close.

On the Tritium powered Trijicon sights, what is the useful illumination life of the tritium element? Will Trijicon replace it when it fails? If not, what happens too your $400+ sight when the tritium fails?

That has been the drawback that has kept me away from this style of sight. It is a little easier to swallow in $100 regular fixed handgun sights.

The tritium should be good for at least ten years and by that time I expect there will be some super sight on the market that connects to your iPhone or Google Glass or something.
