Hi all,
New to the forum and the 15-22. I've picked up a lot of good information already and I'm looking for advice on a red dot to add to my new 15-22 MOE. I've read good reviews for the Bushnell TRS-25, especially considering the price but I'm not sure which version would work best, the trophy or the hi-rise? It seems that the taller hi-rise model might be a better choice but I'd really appreciate input from anyone that has experience with either.

Thanks,
Tony

It depends.... with the standard model, you have to buy risers to have it co-witness at either lower 1/3rd, or absolute... With the high rise model, it comes with a riser that gives you the lower 1/3rd co-witness.

The high rise is to high IMO. Get the regular trophy model and pick up the UTG medium riser off amazon for around $10.00. It's the perfect height.

Thanks Guys. I watched a video on another thread about co-witness that explained the difference between 1/3 and absolute. Like I said lots of good info on this forum.

HP,

I'm assuming that particular set-up on the 15-22 is not absolute CW, right?

Appreciate the replies.

I believe the .83" riser will give you lower 1/3rd co-witness and the .5" riser will give you absolute. Been awhile since I bought the risers.

7mm riser will give you lower 1/3 on most red dots, EOtech included. the medium UTG with the Bushnell is perfect and Amazon offers a package with a discount if you buy both.

l had a TRS25 on my 657PC for awhile and it did quite well with recoil..The units weak link is the mounting screw, which appears to be made of very soft metal... The hex will round out
if titened overly.. Go to Midways website and read the reviews for the TRS25... The screw is about the only complaint...Bushnell also makes a TRS32. lts a bit larger and about the same price as the 25. l just don't like the 32's high pedestal mount...

Luxy-- After reading this thread and my ow post l did a little reading and decided l HAD to have a TRS32... They list for $220 but l found one on ebay ''buyitnow'' $75 shipped.. Last one the seller had...lf l don't like it l will sell it... Should be here Wed...l will let you know how it works on my

i always put in a different screw, at least a good steel one out of the parts bin! i got enough scope mount screws and others to last a lifetime. some are great and you can torque them, so not so good. i find the 'star' wrench ones are the best, most of the time.

On Ebay you have to watch out for people selling cheap Chinese clones of well known sights. If the price seems really cheap chances are they are not the real thing. I have seen cheap $50 Chinese clones of the $220 C-More that had the C-More patent numbers molded into the case just like the real thing. Only by opening it up could you see that the electronics are not correct and just slapped together. But recently they have been even copying those pretty close. If you see anyone selling multiple copies of a sight for less than 1/3 of its normal price you can bet you are putting money into the pocket of some Ferrari driving Chinese businessman.

I'm always leery of Ebay sellers and Internet store fronts in general. I'd rather buy from a well known reputable retailer, or local dealer, even if I have a pay a little bit more. When an on-line price/ deal is compelling it's nice to have a forum like this to check and see what other's experiences have been and if it might really be too good to be true.

Yes be careful of eBay and sights that cost a lot, aim point eotech etc.

I guy at the range could not get his AR to zero and I have one on mine so I offered to help. It was different. It didn't have a logo mine did and the image was fuzzy.

He got it off eBay and the range officer said it was an Airsoft model. That was a 300.00 " good buy" mistake.

Lux--The TRS32 arrived but l just don't care for the mount.. Not low mounted like the TRS25.lt sits atop a high ring mount..Nice for a rifle/shotgun but too high on a handgun for me.
