Just a quick background on me and my 15-22. I got my 15-22 about two years ago and found this forum about a year ago. Well just like all of you I've put a ton of $$ and Accessories into it and I blame it on the picture thread. My rifle was initially planned to be just a plinker with a red dot on it. I don't know if you guys are familiar with the company Ops Gear but they have a retail store near me and needless to say a couple good deals later and I had more of a sniper look than what I had intended.

This change lead me to my most recent purchase. I wanted a .22lr pistol that would be inexpensive, I wouldn't have to be worried about what I fed it and that had fairly inexpensive mags. Well all that considered, I got a 15-22P...

So now I'm wanting to put a red dot or holographic sight on it but after being on this forum I'm not content with the standard red dot sights. I'm loving the looks of these PA's I'm seeing on everyone's rifles but there's another store in my area selling some Eotech clones. There's my problem I'm running into. I don't have the money to put a real Eotech or Aimpoint on my Rifle or Pistol so the clones are what I have to choose from.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these optics on the Pistol Version? More so the Eotech clone's because I've read so many great reviews on the PA stuff. He's got an XPS clone thats been screaming my name every time I see it.

Thanks in advance for all your input and I know going the route of the real thing is ultimately the way to go but the wife and two little kids under 4 tend to come first in the budget.:o

I bought an Eotech XPS knockout off of Amazon for $100 and its worked great. I recently put a magnifier behind it and this thing is dead nuts on every single time. If u have a chance to get a Eotech knockout do it. You won't be disappointed.

I have heard some eotech clones are better than others. i hear the clones that primary arms sells are good too.

can someone who has one from primary arms confirm this?

PA doesnt have EOtech clones, they only have Aimpoint clones. (and they are pretty good)

G&P make pretty good Eotech clones.
(there is a good eotech clone topic somewhere on here)

It's mostly what you like. I like the eotech large circle with small dot in the centre.
(altough the knockoffs arnt 1moa, which i would like)

I purchased an Eotech Clone on RRages, it worked at home great, first time on the range and the GREEN dot stopped working. Now only the RED dot works. Also the batteries die in a few days, even when OFF, there must be a short. I spent $99 and wish I purchased a SightMark SM130XX model for the 22LR. Save and either get the SightMark, Vortex StrikeFire, everything else is just not worth it. It ain't fun when you start shooting and things stop working, you feel like a fool. The knock offs have no quality, just looks... so if you just want to hang it on the wall go for it, but if you want a shooter's rifle, get one of the three above.. Keepem in the X..
