Refinish or leave alone?

I just came to after reading the initial post and passing out at the thought of a 2" nickel pre war being refinished...but after reading the rest a seeing that the current owner is leaning towards preserving it as it is I feel much better. I think it looks great like it is and it has a story to tell. There are plenty of fairly pristine later production nickel snubbies out there to be had if you want something a little shinier. After searching for several years I`ve come up with two lettered 2" nickel guns in the same serial range from 1937- 608378 that went to Louisville, KY in May and 608507 that went to Wolf and Klar in September. By the way for those of you that keep track of such things, my lowest SN 2 incher (blued) is 597812 and shipped to the Ashland OR Police Dept. in Sept 1935.
