I'll leave this thread since the auction has closed. I did not see it till just now.

I hope I don't get spanked for this post(been there before)!
As long as you don't provide an active link, I think you're ok. but I'll probably get dinged for telling you.:p

Why do people continually say that?

The wording of the rule is quite clear:
11. NO Links to current or upcoming auctions or promotion of current or upcoming auctions or discussion of current or upcoming auctions, even in vague and general terms, or GunsAmerica ads, Guns International ads, or other internet listing sites should be posted without permission.
Do NOT participate in discussion of current auctions or ads.
Links to CLOSED auctions and ads are permitted.

On fleaBay there is the, what appears to be an original, registration sheet for serial # 48283/registered #989. There is 2 days left on the auction!

Joe, this gun is in our database. Hope the owner gets connected to the original registration certificate. This doesn't happen all that often. Thanks for alerting the fold.

Gone! ! !

Well it sold and higher than I would have thought. I hope it went to the person that has the gun! Maybe we will "hear" the rest of the story on this forum(with pics) from the person that ended up with the sheet!

Wordsmith is a heavy hitter dealer. Expect that document to be offered for sale at twice the auction price.

Art Doc:
I would say that was not a fair statement. I have seen him advertise that he has found certain documents and offer them re-united with their gun for free.

The original post was from a gentleman in WI, his forum name is 'Woodsmith'.

Mr. Carroll, 'Wordsmith', is indeed a member of the forum and he is in Al. Not sure where the confusion or coincidence came into play. Mr. Carroll does offer really nice pieces but typically he only offers thru Gunbroker or an auction site, so the guns / etc will only bring what the market will pay that day. I have dealt with him many times and I look forward to dealing with him again.
