Reincarnation?

I'm aware of Edgar Casey (not sure which of us is spelling it right but that is how it is pronounced). He was a noted psychic. I've known several people who have had post-life readings and it's odd how none of them were ever Hitler, Stalin, or just a plain-old murderer.

I don't disregard the possibility however.

I think it's Cayce. Been awile since I've seen him mentioned. But Search under that name and see if it's him.

Of all the things in this life death scares me the most. It's not the dying it the not knowing what is next. I have faith in my higher power But.......

"It is appointed unto man once to die, and then the judgement."

I was raised Catholic. I still consider myself Christian but my beliefs are quite a bit different then "Catholic" these days.

Anyway, I believe that the bible / Jesus' teachings are the dumbed down version. I imagine Jesus as like a rocket scientist trying to explain basic quantum physics to monkeys. The lessons can be truth and still leave open wild possibilities. The human mind is limited and God's grace is not. For me, faith is accepting the fact that the human mind is simply incapable of understanding the full breadth of reality beyond life.

I remember from Sunday school the classic "test God" type questions like: If God is all powerful can he make a rock so heavy he can't lift it? The priest usually answered by telling us not to test God. I believe that if God wills it to be then it will be so even if it doesn't make sense or seems contradictory to us. God can make that rock so heavy he can't lift it, and then he will lift it if he wants to.

Same goes for reincarnation, ghosts, and any other afterlife hocus pokus. I accept on faith that there is probably a vast ocean of possibilities beyond my ability to know or understand and that if reality appears contradictory to the lessons of the Bible, it is only my understanding that is lacking.

Yes!

Just as strongly as I believe I'm looking at this computer screen at 3:00 in the morning because I can't sleep again!

Oreo, Sir you expressed many of my thoughts and feeling about God and the possibilities of other things beyond our understanding. I think that sometimes give some of us glimpse of the other possibilities.

Pease Be With You.

Think About It

"He who knows does not say....he who speaks does not know"

Someone "said" this...........................

Here's a question to ponder: If you had a choice between never existing at all, or being reincarnated repeatedly to eventually live every life that has ever and will ever exist, which would you choose?

IMHO-FWIW-the main point of Jesus's teachings is that you DO get a Second Chance and you CAN recognize and correct your mistakes (also make new ones, that's another thread). I think of reincarnation as a Second Chance, in my view you get to come back in a New and Improved version. As You.

Who would of thought a bunch of crazed gun lovers would be interested in one of the oldest conundrums of all time! Kinda scary isn't it?

For what it's worth...
Dr Walter Martin, PhD authored a well received book called the Kingdom of the Cults in the '70's and became some what famous. He distinguished between Pantheism (I'm god, your god everything that lives is a god) and Monotheism (only one god).
He investigated the Casey claim on the girl. His conclusion was that this was some sort of demonic entity manifesting itself through the hypnosis and that there were signs of Satanic Activity in the family which she was either doing or the family was doing, IIRC. This girl also was devoutly devoted to Pantheism and reincarnation.
The investigations also show some detail but, not intimate detail if she was truly reincarnated.
His conclusion also was that Casey was not telling the truth, embellished the truth and dramatized the truth.

This is what I believe. We don't get to make the rules. I am a christian and I don't claim to know all the details of heaven and hell. I live by faith and believe I cant change Gods plan, rules and laws by sidestepping them or inventing new ones. It seems to me life is something like a onion. It has many layers and the more skins we peel back the more we learn. What I can change is my souls destination and rewards and penalty's by playing life's game according to Gods wish's and word the best I can.
I don't know why I was born in this country at this point of time by the parents I have had. I could have been born in Ethiopia as a cripple by a single mom and having fly's crawl up my nose and starving. So could you.
Then we see people born as fortunate as us commit suicide or fall into a life of crime and poverty. Someone here pointed out that some of these supernatural experiences are devilish distractions to confuse us from the truth and I believe that too. I like the analogy I heard long ago. A atheist and a christian were discussing the matter. The atheist was trying to make his case that there was no God and the christian said well, if your right and I die nothing will happen to me after death, I wont know anything. But if I am right and your wrong when you die there will be hell to pay.
