Reliable FFL for transfers in south Houston/Clear Lake?

Not sure why in the 4th most populous city in the country, it would be so hard to find a reliable FFL to do a transfer.

Anybody have any suggestions? Please help!

Have you talked to your local Academy store?

Locate find a FFL
Enter your zip code

It will show the FFL’s and their fee.

By reliable, do you mean one that doesn't get an attitude because your not buying something they have in stock? I had to check with a couple before I found one that just charges me an arm and a leg but does it without griping.

Good questions, I was going to elaborate as needed, so here goes:

I used a pretty popular gun shop down here in the Clear Lake area 3 times. 2 of the three times, they never contacted the seller, only after I hounded them for over a week did they finally send the seller their information.

One of those times, after the gun was delivered it sat there for 6 days and they never called me to tell me I could pick it up. I know it sat there for 6 days because I had the tracking number.

All three sellers told me that their emails go to spam boxes, when I informed the local FFL of the problem, he told me that it was the seller's fault.

I just bought another gun last week and tried a different FFL, but they don't seem to know how it works either. They told me that the seller is supposed to contact them. This is completely opposite of every other transaction I've done, normally I inform my receiving FFL that I'm having a firearm shipped to them, and they are supposed to contact the shipper, correct?

Ugh, frustrating. Is it this hard everywhere else, or is this the industry norm?

see above, decent customer service is all I ask, I'm not asking for concierge level service, a personalized embroidered smoking jacket, and a free gold pen with each transfer.

I think were actually talking about the same thing...failing to meet your reasonable requests is the attitude I was referring to.

The store I frequent at Westheimer and S. Voss has a sign posted that they do FFL receives for $15. I've never used them for that service but have done business with Academy Sports and Outdoors back to their Southern Sales days.
