Ultimately, it all comes down to water. I’m lucky enough to have a source of fresh water nearby; that’s where I’m staying and making very nice with everyone else who comes. Why? Because it’s damned hard to live without fresh water, especially in Texas, and keeping it safe and clean and boiled for the part you drink is its own full-time job that’ll need friends and multiple shifts to accomplish in the event that it becomes necessary.
