Ha! I have one of those pocket reamers.

I got an eye opener for you. Clean some case pockets. Load and shoot them a few times. Then run the pocket uniformer in them again.

If you're running stiff loads like chasing velocity in a Creedmoor you'll see that you're cutting brass in the pocket bottom again that was displaced by pressure.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to argue the matter, but are you sure that's true?

I have done it myself with 43.1 grain loads of H4350 in a .260 with 140 grain Sierra match kings. Black Hills (Winchester) brass. They were all factory fired, fully match prepped by skimming the necks 50%, flash hole deburred/uniformed and pocket uniforming. At the time I only had a RCBS media tumbler with walnut. After three firings I'd clean the primer residue out of the pockets with my sinclair uniforming tool and found I was cutting brass in nearly all of them to one degree or another.

Brass is elastic at a certain pressure which is one reason why pockets get loose with overly strong loads. Same reason why the thick web section on rifle brass can get expanded and our dies cannot fix it.

Edit, I am wiser now shooting a lower accuracy node. As much as for my comfort as well as being nicer to my gear and brass!
