Color is the last consideration. Much of the black dust that will accumulate on a press is powdered glass from the used primers. This is quite abrasive. A Re-loading press must be kept clean and lubricated just like any mechanical device. Go to a machine shop and ask how often they clean and lube their lathes, mills, etc. You will find that is is very frequent if not daily! A re-loading press is equivalent to this machine shop equipment and needs the same care!

my press is used many times per week and I wipe it down or blow it off when it has POWDER dust, other wise cover with black garbage bag

Only "dust" on my presses are from decapping, but I usually remove it at the end of the session. Brush/wipe. I keep my most used press, a Co-Ax, covered with a pillow case when not in use...

Press color wars...

Here is a statement that isn't all too bold. Worst brand possibly EVER for a press and a few scattered tools before they disappeared, thank god... was the color yellow.

What, you have not heard of a reloading tools company that used yellow as their color? You're lucky! I'm talking about SmartReloader, and they did not last long.

I don't know who bankrolled the idea for this company, but these guys were copying tools from anyone and everyone, building their junk copies in CHYNA and painting them yellow and selling them cheap.

It was total dreck and seems to have disappeared from the market, thankfully.

This is one of the strangest questions I have ever seen posted on line or in a magazine (Handloader) ...
and I don't have an answer ...
I can say a Black car , truck or boat shows more dust than a dust colored or white vehicle ... but I've never looked for dust on any of my reloading presses , which are ...
Blue , Black , Red and Grey .

What color is the "Dust" around your reloading bench ?

I just love this site ...
