I was successful and quite pleased loading 9mm Luger casings with 158g .357 semi-wadcutters that I cast and powder coated. I used 3.0g of WW231. Test rounds were fired thru a Star BM.

I was amazed because I used 9 Makarov reloading dies.

I also loaded 95gr Makarov FMJ into modified 9mm casings for my FEG PA-63 using 2.7g of WW231. No more obnoxious kick!

Way to go on re-inventing the wheel.............

If it ain't broke, don't fix it..................
but that does not mean you can't mess with it just a little bit.

I "Tinker" and strech the data at times but I also have safety gear on
and take little steps.

Enjoy those loads.

Why are you using Makarov dies on 9mm casings? I own both and they are different from each other.

Yes. The dies ARE different. The casings, not so much. Trim 1mm from the casing of a 9 and you have a 9 Mak after going thru the dies. And if you don't trim it you can still run it thru the Mak dies and you have a 9mm.

If you want to load .356" bullets and crimp with a die designed for .365" go right ahead. Just don't expect me to get why it is a better idea.

Lyman 45th Handbook has 158g lead data for 9mm Luger, using Bullseye, Red Dot, Unique, and Herco.

When you say you are loading 9mm MAK bullets in 9mm I'm assuming you are resizing the .365 bullet to .356.

But I'm lost as to how you can load a MAK sized case into a 9MM chamber. SAAMI specs say it's a no-go!
