Check the books for safe loads & use the most powerful & safe load you & your gun can handle well. If it's too hot & it makes you miss or it's not accurate enough, it's not the right load.
I found out the hard way when I switched from a hot 38 spl load to a very hot 357 load for bowling pins & couldn't hit anything after the first shot or two. Good luck.

You can find all of these powders on Alliant's web site data pages. You should have a reloading manual (or two or three) and nearly all have loads for these very popular powders. (They are my powder trinity). Don't start with a full load. Load low and work up until you hit the magic spot. It'll take a little time, but it's worth it. Sounds like you will need a 'warm' load for bowling pins. If you need more than a light target load you could skip the BE and try Unique or 2400.

Don't know how much you know about powder, but BE is good for light target loads. Unique is good for medium to near full power loads. 2400 is good for higher to top loads.
