Remora questions

I've read only positive things about Remora holsters, but I'd love to hear feedback from users on this forum.
Questions:
Sweat Shield or no SS?
Reinforced top or no RFT?
Regular or lower cut?

I have an M&P 9mm compact.

Thanks!
I had the RFT with the regular cut no sweat shield for my M&P9c. Worked like a charm. I sold that gun but I still use a Remora daily for my CM9.

Reason I asked is because it's been several days with no response since I emailed the question to Remora.

I would imagine they are pretty slammed from the Shield rollout, thus the slow email response. I did email them with this exact question on Monday and received a reply that same day. Jacqui suggested the #4 would be the right size for the Shield. She also mentioned it was the "question of the day!" Double checking the fitment chart, I noticed the similar sized CS9 is speced for a #4 as well. Noted also that a #6 is suggested for a 3913TSW.

HTH.

That's funny because the other day I called and the woman said the correct size for the Shield was #4A. What is the difference?

Actually, that is what I was told too, but I was also asking about magazine carriers in the same email and I didn't want to confuse anyone here regarding something they might not be interested in. I was surmising that the "A" portion mentioned integrated a mag pouch in to the same holster, which is not something I would want or recommend to others. Her exact response was:

"You need the # 4A (A for added accessories)"

Googling their web site, I also see the reference to a Remora Series 4A "RFT" Holster (Pocket/IWB). I'm not clear if the "A" in this case is not the Artemis option (a.k.a. ART option) which has more material trimmed off around the grip area, and not the "A" for added accessories) which Jaqui referenced, and which no extra mag pouch is visible on the site photos for this model.

From a cached page: Remora Series 4A "RFT" Holster

Clear as mud.

Well I ordered the 4A for my Shield and I hope it fits! Hopefully they will update their website ASAP to include the Shield. I'm sure they are getting tons of calls about this very question.

I'll probably just call for clarification and place my order at the same time. I'll post an update once I get a chance to do that.

I ordered one for my shield. Alan said to order the #4 with the added laser/ light option due to the size of the trigger guard on the shield.

And just an FYI to those asking about the M&P Shield size - if what they send you doesn't work, just call them and they'll make it right.

Don't want to be the fly in the ointment but I have a 4ART I use for my CS9 and it does not work for my Shield due to larger trigger guard on the Shield. Can't get enough of the Shield in the holster and have about 3/4 inch excess holster length when it is crammed in as far as it will go. I too have been wondering if Remora has a holster that works because I really like their products but had not called them yet to inquire.

I carry my M&P 9c in a #6. It also fits my 6906 and my Kahr PM9-however it sits deep and somewhat loose. But that is okay with me. I also have one for my Ruger LCR. Neither have come loose or shifted while wearing them. Great holster.

A couple of posts before yours apparently has the answer:

So that option should be chosen from the order form. Or just call them to order.

I have two Remora Holsters and getting ready to order number three. One is for my Walther PPK/s and is a 7 ART. The other is a 12C/SS for my McCormick Commander. Both are great and stays in place. Since this is my first Summer with them I am hoping they are as comfortable then as they are now. My third Remora will be a #6 for my Walther P5.

I too have had trouble getting a quick response from Alan or Jacqui. I think they do most of their holster work Monday through Thursday.

I spoke with Jacqui today and they're just really swamped. They've expanded, and they've had some website issues to deal with. Remora has excellent customer service. Call or email and they'll get back to you.

I heard from Alan today. It took two days, but he got back with me.

As stated above, they're swamped. They are swamped because they have a great product, IMO.

I have tried tons of IWB's and the Remora is the only holster that works for me. I have two; one each for a J and K frame. They are the only holster that has ever worked out for me.
