I have a 642-2 that I am going to refinish. What method do you use to remove the barrel.
Thank you,
G

If you have to ask, then you are not qualified to do it without permanent damage to your revolver. Also, if you get it off without warping or otherwise damaging the frame, getting it back on will be a real BIG PAIN. You will have to adjust the distances involved between the frame and the shoulder so that you can re-create the "crush" fit by "clocking" the barrel so it stops at about 9 o'clock and the last part is the crush turn to make it so it will not back out.

The above is probably not completely accurate, but it should be close enough to convince you that it is not just screw it out and screw it back in so the front sight is standing straight up.

Don't do it. Oh, I forgot to mention it will completely void your warranty as well.
