Preventing rust on a blue finish for carry?

Keeping my blued revolvers rust free is a two step process . I have some old school cotton baby diapers . They are used to wipe down my guns and remove all fingerprints before oiling them . I haven't found anything softer or more absorbent than a 100 % cotton baby diaper . Removing all traces of fingerprints goes a long way to preventing corrosion .
EXACTLY!
I have kept some cotton baby diapers for just that purpose (and the original wearer is now in her mid-40’s). I use 3-in-One oil on the diapers and store them in zip-lok bags… one inside my safe to wipe down any gun recently handled…and one on my workbench. Every day or other when passing by that workbench I take out the carry-gun and wipe it down.

The diapers aren’t “soaked”. They just have an accumulated residual amount and are used solely and only for the purpose of removing finger-prints/handling on guns. I’ve got a blued Mod 36 bought in ‘75 that still looks new despite being a daily carry for 20 years in a lined holster, and wiped down nightly.

I have an old oil impregnated t-shirt hanging on the inside of my safe door that I wipe down any firearm I've handled before I put it back in the safe and I wipe down whatever handgun I have out for "just in case" periodically with another old oil impregnated t-shirt I keep in a drawer upstairs.
So far so good. :)

I live in Ohio where it is as humid as the Amazon Jungle in July. The only thing that prevented rust was a stainless gun or a hard chromed one or a nickel-plated gun. Years ago when prices were all not a complete and outrageous rip off I once had two blued .380 autos and a blued/anodised .25 acp and was going to have them hard chromed but the fellow that did such work talked me out of it and said electroless nickel would adhere to both the inside and outside of the gun while a hard chrome finish would only adhere to the outside of the gun. The only disadvantage he did not tell me about (which I already knew about) was that nickel finishes are not as hard and durable as chrome but I went ahead and had all the guns electroless nickel plated. The .25 acp has been carried every day for years even at home in a pocket holster and even in my jeans on the floor when I shower and you know how humid the bathroom gets during a shower and after all these years zero rust on the .25 acp. The electroless Nickel has not peeled or chipped either.

By the way I have never found "any wax" that prevented rust on blued firearms or on carbon steel knives, in high humidity environments, none whatsoever, or any oil for that matter as it soon evaporates or runs off or gets wiped off and carrying a gun slathered in thick grease is not an option for any normal person. Grease is fine for storage but not carrying. I know I have done it when hunting by putting it on my shotgun or rifle. Not the best solution unless you have no other option and do not want or cannot afford to have the entire gun refinished in chrome or nickel which has never been cheap, especially with today's outrageous prices for just about everything in the gun industry. I know the last price I checked on to nickel plate a pistol was north of $300. Its cheaper just to sell the gun and then buy another gun in stainless.
