Removing "Lady Smith" from revolver

Wayne Novak, or one of the companies that he uses for refinishing, removed the L.S. inscription on a friend's 3913 some 10 or 11 years ago. It was perfectly done!

If interested, you might give them a call.

NO!!!!

Don't remove it!! I would pay extra for the logo! If it winds up bugging you, let me know, I will find you a replacement and take it off your hands. I love tweaking my super macho race gun friends at the plate matches with my snubs, and a LadySmith is even better.

Maybe there's some kind of "make-up" to cover it!

Duck tape?

In my neck of the woods, "LadySmith" models bring a premium. I looked for one for my wife, and I was too cheap to pay the mark up for the "LadySmith" marking...so she got a plain old Smith & Wesson....did put pretty rosewood grips on it for her...

Ladysmith

I was at a shop in the St. Louis area a few weeks back and thought the Ladysmith revolver was the nicest one there.
So, where exactly did the name originate? I suppose to attract to women.

If anyone made a comment, I'd just smile and say......Isn't it cool?!?

If you're really offended by LS on the side, feel free to send the gun to:

A big +1...better yet, send it to me, I am 6'3" and 240, I stare down anyone making cracks about my LadySmiths... :)

You and Your Lady

Tell folks that she's your new girlfriend..."Lady" Smith, from Austin, Texas. Good guys will understand! Bad guys won't remember.;)

"But if you have to use it, whoever you shoot isn't going to care WHAT it says."

I disagree, there are some that would be extremely upset to be shot with a "Girlie Gun". The ultimate insult!!

Hey, that's the way it was made. You start "removing" stuff, you screw it up and loose value.

Carrying a piece that said "Lady Smith" on it wouldn't bother me at all!

COME ON, GIMME A BREAK!

I disagree completely that you would screw it up or that it would have to lose value. There are obviously people who wish S&W had made a 65 in the same configuration as the LS, but without the designation. As far as screwing it up, I can post pictures of how to do it without screwing it up if you'd like. Nothing really even changes when you remove the logo, except that you give the stainless a brushed "finish" (more of a texture or a surface treatment than a finish) instead of a bead blast. The key is just to work on the entire gun and not just expect to be able to remove the logo. A couple of hours of gentle rubbing and a 65LS will look like any other 65 (but with a full underlug).

Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me!

I didn't mean to sound "high and mighty," but S&W really should have made a gender-neutral version of this gun! Since they didn't, I did. It really isn't that tough, and I would be glad to help anyone who wants the 65LS without the LS.
