I would not buy a handgun cartridge carbine based on the mags it uses ,
But most buyers want a carbine that uses the same mags , right . I'm not one of them .
My wife wanted the fpc bases on its lite weight as she is 69 and stands 5-2 . The lite weight and length of pull is also to problems for her . With the mags in the butt end of the FPC its rather butt heavy and the No Adjustable looong 14.5" length of pull like on the response or AR15 based carbines .
I would buy some AR 9 based carbine or pistol with a barrel length of 8 to 10.5" Or assemble your own .
My wifes FPC will become a 5-10 daughters fun gun!
We have had a AR9 pistol for 11 or 12 years and it was built off a AR15 upp and lower with a stoner mag adaptor for colt uzi mags from 10 to 33 rounds . We had practiced for years with ar15 carbines and with bullet choices for 223 make it a good home defense as a number of bullet types devoloped for LE needs do not penetrate any more than a 9mm hp in sheet rock or tissue cartridge than 9mm . I built our with parts I wanted to use and assembled it at home but can convert to a 5.56 10.5" upper in 2 to 3 minutes . I will say a ar9 based pistol or carbine of far more tuneable than the FPC and far more adjustable for ether a person's size or for your needs like HD. My wife is now back to use a AR98 pistol for fun time on the range at home . Shes also still good with her AR15 carbine .
Time for you to make up your onw mind assuming you can get over the forum hype for the m&p 9mm carbines !
But if gluck mags fill your needs PSA has the GEN4 9mm pistols and carbines on sale from 549 on up a hundred bucks higher with barrel lengths for the pistol of 5" to 10.5" . Both have a lower cost than the responce .
