Hello out there:D

I'm so glad I found this web cite. Even though I was in law enforcement for 32 yrs, I have not really been into guns for over 35 yrs. I bought a model 29 way back in 1978 when I was 21 yrs old. I was reloading ammo, was shooting about once a week & loving it. About 6 months later it was stolen from me so I gave it up.

I became a California correctional officer in early 1980 & then joined the California Highway Patrol in early 1982. I retired in 2011 & now after 4 yrs I will be returning to police work part time at the local community college. I purchased a Beretta 40 cal for my job & found a S&W model 28 at the same time. I immediately bought it too. Now I am thinking about getting back into reloading my own ammo again. We shall see what happens. I'm looking forward to getting some good information, advise & plain old conversation on this cite!:D

Welcome. I have been on the job for 22 years and I recently bought a 28-2. Every LEO should have a Highway Patrolman in his collection.

I agree! I have a thread on the revolver 1961 to 1980 forum all about how I aquired mine. My old department never had 28's issued, but a few officers carried them back when we still used revolvers. I always wanted one because it was the "Highway Patrolman" & it only seemed right. The last blue steel revolvers issued by the CHP were model 14 K38's. Then they went to the model 67 & 68.

Welcome, from the Magnolia State (MS). Look around, learn a lot, and check in often!

Welcome from another retired cop. I hung it up in 1997 and never looked back. Great people here, lots of help on any topic and never a stupid question.
