It's been cold in Minnesota (duh right, it's January  ) so today I spent the afternoon going through the safe oiling all my guns.

There's one in particular that I love handling and admiring, my M1917.
I've never even shot it, to me it seems like a museum piece, and I've really got to get off my duff and get a letter on it.

The pictures really don't do justice to it, I don't think it's ever spent one minute in a holster.
It's been in my possession for about 8-10 years, and it's been awhile since I've seen another in a shop. From the SN I think this one is from 1918 or 1919.
The blue is bright, and it has all the US Property markings, and just the faintest hint of 3 burn rings on the cylinder face, and no gas cutting on the topstrap. If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably got less than a box through it, ever.

(I haven't been here for awhile, been busy over at the Bonneville (Triumph) forums lately, so my old username got wiped out (Kframe) and apparently all my old posts. )

Let's see what pieces are keeping you all warm this winter!

1948 K22

Just got it out for some pics on RFC. LNIB. I've never fired it, and don't think its seen the light of day for 10yrs. Enjoyed rediscovering what a great gun it is.

Kframe, that is stunning. I wouldn't believe that a 1917 looking that good could even exist if I hadn't seen your photos. Wow. Just wow.

Charlie, I love five-screw K-22 Masterpieces. I have three that are in pretty good shape, but I don't have a single one as nice as yours.

You guys have just given me more dream fodder for tonight. And to keep the thread going, I will repost this pic of K-32 K66021 (Feb 1949) that I acquired earlier this year. About 97-98%, I think. I have several guns I like, but this one has been in my mind a lot recently.

Kframe,

That's the nicest 1917 I've ever seen! I assume it's all original & all numbers match ... it could be a museum piece. What a stunning entrance to the Forum. Welcome!

Here's what I like to fondle when the weather turns cold and nasty. Just me, her, a rag, and some lube. Ain't she a beauty? I always had a thing for older ladies. This one is from 1938, 20 years older than me! She still puts out in style though! Enjoy...

Kframe that is one nice looking 1917. I saw one in a local shop a while back in like condition and they had it marked $1600. Not long ago it was gone.

Thanks, and the pictures really don't do it justice, I gotta take some more in better light.

Yes, all numbers match, it's all original.
Were the US contract pieces shipped in individual boxes or were they crated as a group of guns?
I figured this would be a good reintroduction to the forum, it's been so long since I've been here my 500+ posts are all gone. :(

Thanks for the compliments; wow, I had no idea they'd gone up that much in value. I got this one 8-10 years ago for $400.

I like seeing those other pics too, you guys have some very nice examples! (And obviously I have a soft spot for the K-frames! :D )
