You have a .38 Military & Police revolver. It was probably shipped from the factory in the late 19 teens. It is in really good shape. The serial number, found on the butt, should also be penciled on the inside of the right grip.

The serial # would be a big help in nailing it down to an approx. mfg. date.

The serial number (on the butt, on the rear face of the cylinder, and on the bottom of the barrel) would be helpful. It appears to be a S&W Military and Police (M&P) revolver made during the period of 1914-1919.

Keep in mind that S&W didn't heat treat cylinders for added strength until about Autumn, 1919. Don't shoot hot Plus P ammunition in this gun.

las leyes en Mexico respecto a armas de fuego son mas que estrictas, restrictivas, nos contriñen la compra en tiendas ya que solo hay una en todo el pais, pero podemos comprar entre particulares si problema alguno, y una vez que sea propia acudir a registrarla, para ser el poosedor legal, sin mas investigacion, nos limitan los calibres de las armas y el numero de ellas. por eso insisto, es restrictiva, mas que estricta.
