Revolver Photos 101?

Sometimes photos show things that aren't there. In person these are just regular stocks with no "accent." Joe

What is wrong with a prop rod of some sort? Everyone does it? My favorite on a revolver is a 12 gauge shotgun shell, but there are many others.

Sometimes if I'm bored I'll go out of my way to get different looking pics. This was took with a studio light in a 30x60 softbox on a boom arm about 5 foot off the floor pointing at the rifle. I sat on the floor under the light to get the picture. Edited out the fishing line and any wrinkles in the backdrop that was about 10 foot behind the rifle.

I think the results are just as good laying a revolver on a really old piece of chestnut in my driveway in the shade.

I’m here to support this topic because I knew nothing about what I was doing. Like everyone here life goes on and time is limited. This past weekend I took solitude in my happy space and experimented with the suggestions, I was amazed!

I put together some stuff I stole from my wife’s happy place and came up with this. I was after the color BLUE, like the bluing on a cylinder. I was happy with the cobalt blue and wanted to add that in this photo the TOP of the “box” is bare wood, I’ve since added a white “ceiling” and BINGO !!! My goal was simple, clear definition closeups with color taken with a phone.

I’m not a golfer nor a photographer but I do have a phone (no stix) and now I understand WHY I was struggling to get the detail correct. Thanks again

A few years back I was on another gun site and one of the members started posting "Glamor Shots", using mirrors, special lighting, colored silk and creative posing.

I'm somewhat reluctant to post any of mine here as none of them are S&Ws. but I'm sure that there are some in here that can come up with some beauties.

ANYONE ?

That was from year ago from the guns with food thread (pictures) and the weekly Broccoli hate threads
My Wife and I like it, especially from the home garden, totally different that store bought.:)
