I would have sprained my arm getting my wallet out on that deal. You can't touch a 27 in any cond in my area for under $1000.

They had the exact same pistol, only in nickle, sitting next to it. Also in the Presentation Case w/tools, papers, etc...
Same price. And that was the "buy it now" price. You could put in silent bids (I did on two others) and possibly get them for less (I did that too, with two other new, un-fired S&W's).
I called a friend, and in no time he made it across town when I told him the prices that I was seeing. He put a bid in on a, you guessed it, new, un-fired, in the box, yada, yada, yada, Model 41.
Buy it now was $1100, his WINNING bid was $600!
Unlike me, (I still have everything bought that day), he turned his on Gun Broker for $1200.
That was a crazy two days for sure.
So, now for the really crazy part. As if that wasn't enough, the next day I go to pick up my two "won" Smitties. A 1955 Target/25-2 in 45ACP and another Presentation Cased 6",629-2 w/all the tools papers, etc...
Well, I didn't answer their call soon enough and they sold the 629 from under me
So I get the 25-2 and whilst filling out the paperwork, I notice that there are only 3 worn and beat boxes sitting on the end of the table. Yesterday, the first day of the sale/auction, they said "all guns will be sold by the end of tomorrow."
So I ask about those 3 weird "BDA's" over there.
They say "make us an offer." They are priced at $450, $500 and $ 600. "Why the different prices", I ask. The were told by some "expert" that there was a difference between all of them. They were all the same!
Alright, I only vaguely remember reading about the BDA's, years ago. I don't know anything about them. The look a little shabby, with the plastic grips and all. Just didn't look too good is all. Well, they were all new in the box, lanyard, papers two mags and all.
It is just me and one other guy there now. I told them that I didn't want to insult them. they said to try. So I offer them $200!
They said how about $300? I take (only) one. Then I go home, research this weird gun and find out what it was/is
I quick like call them back...the other guy there bought the other two after I left.
