A woman was arrested for having some of her children ride in a "box" in the back of a pickup truck. If it had been our family my parents would have said, "Keep out of sight" and we would have said, "OH BOY, WE GET TO RIDE IN THE BOX."
That just reflects increased traffic and speed IMHO.
When my brother was three, he would lay on the rear deck of dad's car. When dad came to a stop sign, he would tap the brakes and Dave would go flying forward into the floorboard, get up giggling and climb back up.
Now that I think about it, it does explain a lot about him.
I've ridden uncountable miles in the bed of a truck. My kids ride in the bed. So does my dog. I had no idea it was illegal. Judging by everything else going on today, however, I cannot say I'm surprised.
If you have several people, and all you have is a pickup truck, how else would you get from point a to point b?
Okay, what's your excuse? I'll bet he has a theory or three about that.![]()
Kinda reminds me of the story how you can pick out the experienced cowboy in the pick up truck. He's the one riding in the middle. Don't have to drive-don't have to get out to open/close the gates.I grew up in the box. Anywhere we went on a job with more than two guys the kids rode in the box.
I have ridden back there for over a 150 miles from one ranch to another during shipping. Load out 10 or 12 truckloads and crawl back in the back and sleep most of the way home.
You would if he liked it as much as my dog does. All the feeling of running fast without getting out of breath!I would never let my dog ride in the bed!
Anyone remember the little Subaru pickup with the seats in the bed?
