Rifle/Revolver Pairs

I was reading through the thread and thought of a couple more combinations.

A fun combination is my Henry 22LR carbine and Ruger Single Six. Second is my Winchester 62A and S&W K22. Third is my Thompson TCR22 with the barracuda stock and carbon fiber barrel mated with my S&W performance center Victory with the carbon fiber barrel.

I have a Marlin 1894 FC in .41 Magnum.
I could pair it with several .41 Magnum handguns.
Right now the most likely would be a three inch 657.
Or one of the Ruger Redhawks, or a New Model Blackhawk
in .41, or...

I approach this from a slightly different direction, a 10" contender w/Burris ffiii and a Remington model seven w/4 power scope both in .223.

This gives me a handgun that shoots farther than many of the carbines listed and an honest 300yd plus carbine. JMHO/YMMV

This isn't a pair in the usual sense - they don't use the same cartridge though they are both .45 caliber. But they were sure paired together 149 years ago and for about 25 years thereafter. This was a pair that saw some exciting times.

Old photo of my 1991 Rossi Model 92 in .357, 1973 S&W 19-3 Texas Ranger. Got the rifle from a neighbor, rode in his truck more than fired. It's a hoot! I've since added leather wrap to the lever, the revolver has gone to a new home but I still have my 686 no dash to pair it up with .

Okay, so they're not in the same caliber, and one is not a revolver...but they helped win World War 2, and that's more than good enough for me.

I only have one combo that fits the thread "rules" otherwise...a Marlin 39a and a pre war H&R Model 199 Single Action Sportsman. Both are absolute tack drivers.

I have a Rossi 92R 38-357 Trapper in stainless that I match w/ a 6" 586ND or a 64 4". My .22 combo set is a '67 10/22 with a '56 Combat Masterpiece. Either of these shared combos work or I can mix and match.

I have a pair of guns that are very handy.

How about a Miroku Winchester model 1892 and a S&W model 25-7. Both in .45 Colt. I still do have to carry two different loadings for them though. The 300 grain Hornady XTPs on top of twenty grains of Winchester 296 that I load for the Winchester would turn the revolver into junk in fairly short order.

I want to see those .45-70 rounds fit into the .45 ACP revolver. There have been several revolvers chambered for the .45-70 cartridge, just not a S&W.

A paring I have carried in the woods several times and didn't remember earlier: A Savage 24 in 357/20 gauge and my 686. A similar pair I've never carried together is a 24-C (camper) 20" 22/20 gauge and my 34-1.

Model 9422 SRC, Frontier Scout, a well-used Barlow.
Would've loved the 9422 when I was 14.

Here is my S&W 45 colt revolving carbine and my 6 1/2 pinned and recessed 5 screw 45 colt.

The carbine was built using a modified Brazilian frame and the 6 1/2" using a 1955 frame and barrel fitted with a recessed 44 mag cylinder reamed to 45 colt.

Other side of the carbine to show how ejector rod swings past forearm with a 6" pinned and recessed 5 screw 45 colt made using an early Highway Patrolmen and a blue 44 mag cylinder reamed to 45 colt

As promised. Three firearms in .45 Colt. The carbine is a Pedersoli Colt Lightning .45 Colt, notice it is a pump not a lever gun. The revolver on the left is a S&W 25-9 and the one on the right is a Colt Model 1909 U.S. Army.
