Rimfire rifles

Here is my Smith and Wesson M&P15-22. This is the rifle that got me back into shooting long guns after nearly 20 years. This is an older photo - I have a red dot on it now instead of the laser. VERY fun to shoot!

Just a Remington 597 upgraded with Volquartsen parts. Nothing special or fancy...

These were all gifts from my father. Top to bottom, Winchester 62A, Winchester 69A, Remington Fieldmaster 121, Remington Sportmaster 512, and a Ruger 10/22 takedown. The top one is my favorite.

What 22 rimfire bolt gun, made today, is as good or better than the old Anschutz or Winchester 52D, my Air Force issue, that was used by many top competitors in the '60s?
Only have a nice 9422 and a Ruger SR22 contraption but would like to get a new bolt gun at some point.... after a new N/RB in 357.

Would like it with a 5 round magazine and the stock, wood or synthetic, is not important as I'll make something.
Thx
RT

for the price point my Ruger American Target has been all that I need....and the threaded barrel makes it more fun with a can....since the pic I put a Nikon 3x9x40 AO on it....a bonus is that it also uses 10/22 mags............................................................................................................................................................................

One of too many.
A Savage Model 3B pre-war2. Single shot with factory 'target sights'
Great shooter, but kinda beat up over time.
So I gave it a face lift last year.
It lost some weight by slimming and reshaping the stock. That revealed some nice grain in the factory wood and I added the engraving & checkering.
Still shoots the same.
