I did not see the 04-25-2018 post about Carl until last night. It was locked so I was not able to chime in. I am asking the moderators to please lock this because I don't want it to turn into a discussion and I am sure the moderators don't want that as well.
I am not trying to defend Carl or beat a dead horse. Since some people here gave money to him, I just want to state that the part about Shasta and her vet bill was legitimate. I talked to the vet's office directly (got the number from a google search) and made a small payment with a credit card (what I could afford). I asked several questions, including the bill amount, which was over $700. I do not believe Carl was trying to scam anyone out of money.
