ROCKY AND BULLWINKLE

I guess I'm a woke liberal and I love those 'toons. Were you appalled when bugs would cross dress?

:)

No, I laughed because it was funny, and he looked foolish! :D Now we are not supposed to think it is funny, or that cross dressers look foolish. ;)

It's a far better comedy than anything produced today! Or, at least most of it.

June Foray, the voice of Rocky, provided the voice for lots of other characters, like Granny in the Tweety Bird cartoons. I grew up listening to Stan Freberg, and her voice was featured on "St. George and the Dragonet".

And most don't know that the narrator's voice was a young William Conrad, who went on to star in the TV show, "Cannon".

I like all the cartoons in that series, like Fractured Fairy Tales, Dudley Do-Right, Aesop and Son, and Peabody and Sherman. They are all top-notch comedy.

That's why we got DVDs of them and the Max Fleicher Popeyes for our kids growing up. Gotta spread the joy to the next generation.

"It's always moose and squirrel"

Somewhere, long ago, I did read that the writers of the show intended to reach the "adult" audience with the show. What brilliance if you think about it, kids are fascinated and the parents watch right alongside them.

Ah the good ole days. Today, the parents have no clue what their kids are watching and none of it is funny. None

Ok you guys......

Here're some strange ones for you:

Super 6, starring Super Boing who rode on a flying guitar and talked like Jimmy Stewart. The only episode I really remember was when the Torch ended in a river and looked like a burned-out match. Super Boing had to pour gas on him and light him back up.

Hoppity Hooper. Favorite episode "The Traffic Zone", where Filmore the Bear turns into a giant turnip. They kept ending up in the same place while a Rod Serlingesque voice drones on about the mystery until told to can it.
