The variant I am referring to is Product Code 170105, described on page 380 of the 4th. edition of the SWSC. This is the stainless frame, blackened slide model made by the PC for the LAPD of which 20 were produced.

Thanks to the generosity of a fellow member offering one up for adoption I now have it in my collection.

After an exhaustive search here I have found reference to three other members who have owned this variant. Including myself that makes 4 of 20 or 20% of the total production run.

I was wondering how many could be accounted for of the original 20. This particular variant was more or less the prototype for what became the PC 45 CQB.

As I started this thread I will begin. My example is S/N PCZ0198 complete with the original numbers matching box and 2 PC marked magazines. The followers on both mags look as if they have never seen a round in them. If it has been fired, it has been sparingly. I will attempt to post up some photos later. I'm an old fart and not too internet savvy!!

I am hoping to build a database of the remaining examples still known. If you have one, I would appreciate a reply. I know some members do not like to divulge serial numbers, it doesn't bother me. If you fall in that group, simply reply by PM., your information will be kept confidential.

I am hoping to ascertain how many still exist. The S/N range, how many still have the original box and PC marked mags as well as the spec ord dates.

Sorry for the long post. It just seems to me that this model has not gotten the attention it deserves.

Best regards, Bob.

Since you didn't post any pictures, I will because threads suck without pictures.
My 4566 Tactical that's rarer than hen's teeth or any PC 4566.

Congratulations on an extremely rare find, definitely need pics to go with this thread! I don't own a 4566, still have remorse for passing on a 4566 version CQB that came up recently. I do own a 4563 CQB and love the pistol's feel, but I personally prefer steel frames.

@03hemi, very nice TSW, those grips really set it off!

Are these a PC variant of the 4566TSW ? I don't see the PC symbol on 03hemi's 4566 , but the op said his came with PC marked mag's . I was lucky enough to score a 4566TSW , it's a nice piece for a production type example .

Not so fast my friend. [emoji23] That's a 4566 TSW with integral rail (not PC) and could and were made to order so the rare versus scarce could be debated and possibly subjective.

It's not what the Op posted for discussion here. The all stainless PC 4566 has been posted by our very own CALREB. I will try to find it and post for information, and a picture of the one I'm fortunate to own.

Please bear with me on this. As I stated earlier, I am not too internet savvy. I am attempting to attach a few lousy cell phone photos of the model I am inquiring about. These are clearly marked as PC models and predate the 45 CQB's.

Best regards, Bob.

03Fatboy, this is not the all stainless CQB Model 4566 of which 91 were produced. It does share the same product code however.

BAM-BAM, no billboard on this variant.

Looking forward to what else we can find and discover on this one. To all who have replied thus far, thank you.

Best regards, Bob.

Some good information on the 4566TSW integral rail can be found here: S&W 4566TSW West Virginia State Police & Public Service Commission Pistol Information

Scroll down to "Addendum: S&W 4566TSW Fresno County Sheriff's Office"

As for 170105, here are a couple pics, unfortunately neither are mine.

Here is a thread with discussion on the 22 PC 4566. Scroll down to post 18.

There are other discussions on this forum as well if you do a search. I own PCZ019X, and was fortunate to have a connection with someone who worked at LAPRAC and had a connection with LAPD firearm instructors who these 22 were ordered for. Note these are stainless steel with a melonite treatment on the slide (black) and should not be confused with the 91 stainless steel PC 4566 which have not had the melonite treatment on the slide that you mention above.

Thanks, not what makes it rare, but they came unused in a box with the pistol.

lol, close but no cigar. It's not a PC, but threads suck without pictures and this was relevant to the 4566.
Only a few were actually ordered (like you said) like this for the Fresno Sheriff's Dept., but you'll never see another 4566 all stainless with integral rail. Only a few were made.
But as we know, rarity doesn't always equate to value either. lol
The PC's are definately worth a lot more and more scarce like you said, mines more of a novelty run, but really cool imo.

I'd love to own a Fresno Dept 4566TSW !! [emoji482]

I was trying to bad one years ago that was for sale in Fresno. The seller (PD) and I were too far apart and planning to meet the next time he was in town but he ended up selling to a local buyer. I don't blame him but it is one that got away. I've seen one other far sale locally that I just missed out on. Oh well, maybe in the future I'll be a proud owner…

I guess this is the "other" 170105.

I certainly wouldn't refer to this as the "other" by any means. A very scarce variant of which only 91 were produced. This model has eluded me so far, I don't recall ever seeing one for sale. Congrats on finding that one Jeppo. I would be happy to adopt it if you should ever decide to part with it.

Best regards, Bob.

My TSW identifies as a PC.

This one is a shooter! It has expensive taste tho. Nosler 185s and Hornady 200 XTPs. And run em hot. This tank can take it.
