The variant I am referring to is Product Code 170105, described on page 380 of the 4th. edition of the SWSC. This is the stainless frame, blackened slide model made by the PC for the LAPD of which 20 were produced.
Thanks to the generosity of a fellow member offering one up for adoption I now have it in my collection.
After an exhaustive search here I have found reference to three other members who have owned this variant. Including myself that makes 4 of 20 or 20% of the total production run.
I was wondering how many could be accounted for of the original 20. This particular variant was more or less the prototype for what became the PC 45 CQB.
As I started this thread I will begin. My example is S/N PCZ0198 complete with the original numbers matching box and 2 PC marked magazines. The followers on both mags look as if they have never seen a round in them. If it has been fired, it has been sparingly. I will attempt to post up some photos later. I'm an old fart and not too internet savvy!!
I am hoping to build a database of the remaining examples still known. If you have one, I would appreciate a reply. I know some members do not like to divulge serial numbers, it doesn't bother me. If you fall in that group, simply reply by PM., your information will be kept confidential.
I am hoping to ascertain how many still exist. The S/N range, how many still have the original box and PC marked mags as well as the spec ord dates.
Sorry for the long post. It just seems to me that this model has not gotten the attention it deserves.
Best regards, Bob.
