Just a heads up for some of you who have been around since before our current host took over the forum. Back in the olden days, I think especially on the Sig forum, and occasionally here. A guy by the name of Ron Honner posted. Some of you may remember him. He and I come from the same town in South Dakota. While I can't say we were great friends we were aquaintences and traved in the same shooting circles. I read in the online hometown paper that Ron passed away on May 2. Not much more info. Just thought some here might like to know.. GB

Sorry to hear that. Ron was always a gentleman and helped round out several items I was looking for. RIP

Is he the one who used to sell guns on here? I purchased several items from him if this is the same one. He had told me he didn't have long to live.

RIP Ron - an HONEST and ETHICAL man is gone

Ron was an HONEST and ETHICAL man.

We bought and sold more than a few times.

His selling prices and his buying offers were ALWAYS fair.

I will miss him.

I spoke to Ron a few times, he served in the same Army unit(3rd ID Schweinfurt, Germany) as my brother. As stated he was a true gentleman. He had some form of cancer, can't remember which though. RIP Ron, Rock of the Marne.

Sorry to hear it. I bought an unusual Ruger Old Army NIB from him a couple of years ago and we corresponded about its origins. As noted above, he was a real gentleman and a pleasure to talk to.

I knew Ron from our shared interests in Rugers. We have lost a true Gentleman....

As a fellow South Dakotan, I had the opportunity to meet Ron at a couple of gun shows. Also did business on a few occassions. Great guy who will be missed.

Sad to hear this. I bought some holsters from him last year. I only wanted 2, but he sent a box of 12 of them to choose from. I ended up taking them all. Then about a week later he sent me a small pocket knife as a thank you for buying from him. He was great to talk to and do business with. RIP Ron.
