Picked this up in a trade recently, in the past I was very much a .357/.38 guy, for years. I owned a .44 mag and liked it but that was it. Recently I've seen the light and am more of a .45 colt person with a little more .44 mag thrown in. I never really saw much need for .44 special.

Well this little revolver is certainly changing my mind, it is just so dang nice and handy. I read that people really liked them and I can see why. .44 special is just the perfect mixture of large bore and low enough velocity to be useable in this size of a gun as well, I can see it making it's way into my carry rotation for sure.

Does anyone know what grips might fit it, and holsters too? It seems very K or L frame size but not too sure.

They are nice guns!
I have the bobbed hammer, fixed sight covert model.
Welcome to the cult.
I’ve never tried any aftermarket grips but have been tempted to try a set of Thai rosewoods.

K frame holsters should fit well, they do for my Rossi 720. I picked up an Azula K frame 3" owb that fits fairly well. I've also used a vintage Bianchi Scorpio K frame shoulder holster component that fits perfectly perfectly whereas my vintage ******* k frame shoulder rig is great for my K frame and Ruger Six series but loose for my 720.

As for grips I found the stock grips to fit my hands perfectly.

These grips are from Thailand and I bought them off eBay for a really good price. Sorry I can't remember the name of the vendor but it has been several years. This is my wife's dedicated vehicle gun. Enjoy!

I'll give those thai grips a look. I was hoping to get some smooth boot grips but there doesn't seem to be much available for these. I was hoping I could adapt some k frame grips or something but from reading online that doesn't seem to be the case.

I bought the 720 when they first hit the market over 20 years ago. Mine has never failed. best shot with was I killed a large cottonmouth swimming across a pond about 20 yards away while fishing. Shot his head off. Rossi mdl 720 preceeded the S&W 696 by several years.

I bought the exact same model and posted it here a few years ago! They’re phenomenal revolvers if you can find decent ammo for them or hand load. Mine got to see some new life when I found a few boxes of 44 Russian on clearance that looked 30 years old on a shelf lol. As far as frame size goes, I feel it’s closer to an L frame when I compare it to my model 10 and Taurus L frame clone. K frame holsters should still fit it, but I’ve never tried it with my K frame paddle holster.

I keep wanting one of these. Been looking at them for years. Always here good things about them. And I reload for them as welll
