Rotary tumbler

I also got one of those for Christmas. The pins look like a PITA to ise, so I plan to stick with walnut hill media. Been using it for 40 years, so I’m reluctant to change.

I’ve dry vibrated to clean brass for years. Recently got a Lyman, wet tumbled with pins and Lyman cleaner some .40 S&W cases I had previously tumbled, and was amazed at how much cleaner they came out.

I think they also cycle smoother through the dies of my 650.

I’m a convert.

I use Gun Tap brass shine powder detergent. It works great. I tumble for 30 minutes with detergent, then rinse and tumble in clear water for 10 minutes. I bought it on Amazon when i bought my ss pins for my DIY tumbler. That tumbler has since worn out, but I have a new FA 7l tumbler that just showed up.

I tumble all my pistol cases, but I don't usually tumble bottle neck rifle cases, except 223. Rifle cases can produce better accuracy with a uniform carbon layer on the inside of the necks, leading to more consistent bullet pull.

I thought the APP was a gimmick, but I just had to have one anyway. I don't use the UDD, rather I use the appropriate caliber sizing/depriming die. Then, I eliminate the extra step later.

I just love that little toy. It's not about saving time, I simply get a kick out of watching all those little suckers fly out.

great for a one time deswaging of military brass too.
