Need some help, my dad ordered a 627 Pro series several weeks ago and it hasn't come in yet see the link below. Since Father's Day is coming up I was going to go ahead and get some nice grips for him maybe some Nill's but I am not sure if it is a square or round butt. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Product: Model 627

You might hold off a bit; your Dad might like the grips that are on it. Mine feel great & I dismissed all thoughts of replacing them after I shot it.

I just shot mine yesterday with some Paul Ferro Hogue stocks and I really like them a lot. They felt great and provided me with enough grip so I maintained total control at all times.

Welcome

Welcome from Iowa. Holding off on the new grips until he trys the factory ones may be a good idea. Now if you can find ammo to give him for Father's day that might be a good alternative.

FYI ALL new S&W large and medium frame revolvers not in the Heritage series feature a Round Butt grip frame. So, you are perfectly safe getting some Round Butt grips for your father.

Guy's, if you aren't familiar with Nill grips you should take a look at some time. The are the Rolls Royce of handgun grips so it's a rather expensive and thoughtful gift. About the only thing I would question about this as a gift choice is how the OP got his father to provide him with a hand tracing so that the grip could be custom sized to his fathers hand. Yeah, Nill does offer this service. They also offer a wide selection of custom woods notable for beauty and durability.

Welcome to the forum. Round butt. I like the Ahrends grips. I always buy from "gripseller" on ebay. Terri sends them right out. I have bought several from her and so have other members on the forum.
