Ruger LCP .380

If the recoil is a little excessive with the pistol, Wolff sells recoil springs for the pistol up to 13#. I believe it comes with a 9# spring as standard. I own a Keltec which is basically the same with a few less frills, and had to go to a 13# spring from the standard 11# to accommodate Hornady TXP ammo. I still may try a 15# before it's over. You will beat your hand and the pistol to death with to small a spring in those micros.

Speaking of beating your hand to death. I went to the range today and shot it for the first time. I got thru about 25-30 rounds and that was enough for me. LOL. I had 2 other weapons I still wanted to shoot and needed to save my hand. I wanted to test it out and see how it shoots though. :D

I scored a box of Remington ball ammo for it today at Walmart. Went in fast to see what they had and 1 box was left on the shelf. That's what I used today at the range. I also picked up a box at the range for $1 more than Walmart was selling it for. So I am good now. I don't plan on shooting it too much.

I guess I'm chuckling a little bikergal but I'm laughing with you not at you. My right hand felt like someone had hit it with a ballpeen hammer after shooting the KelTec the first time. I'm now at a 13# spring and can still purchase a 15, and 16 pound spring if necessary. Going from an 11# to the 13# made a large improvement in felt recoil so for another $10 bucks, I'll probably order the 15# and see if the slide cycles properly with the Hornady ammo. Heck, they even give you a new firing pin spring with the order.

The best firing Micro is the Diamondback, if you can get it to fire. It's got a 20# spring and is a pleasure to shoot with Hornady TXPs and Zombie loads. The only problem has been with light strikes but that's another story. Don't buy one unless you're ready for a complete fluff and buff.

I'm good with it the way it is HankG. I know what to expect now. I ordered the Hogue grip cover for it. Waiting for it to get here. That should help a little ;)

My wife owns an LCP. You have to look at it in the context of what it is; it’s not a range gun it kicks like a mule even for a .380 because it’s so small. It’s not (IMO) fun to shoot. It’s the gun you carry when you can’t carry anything else or if you want a back up piece or if concealment is paramount. I used to have a patient who called his an ENT gun because you stuck it in the bad guy’s ears, nose or throat and pulled the trigger.

Well put Smoke. haha... That's why I said I won't be shooting it too much. It's used to concealed carry and I know it will do it's job. I'm good to go.

I have one of the little things in my safe somewhere. The best that I remember, it was flawless.I probably should find it.I have not seen it in a couple of years.

Please just remember most feel it's important to put a couple hundred rounds or more down range with any CC gun to make sure the gun is operating properly and you are able to handle it in different situations, etc.

Just my .02!

Good luck with it!

Hate it. My brother has this and my wife has the Taurus TCP 380 which is a much better handling piece, IMHO. She shot one round with the Ruger and handed it back.

I will shoot it more but it will not come into the range with me every time I go shooting. ;)

The first experience I ever had with the LCP was actually when the patient I mentioned earlier loaned his to the Dr. I worked for. The Dr. invited me to the range after work and during the course of the range session we both tried the patient’s LCP. We didn’t make it through the magazine and we both decided it just wasn’t fun to shoot. The LCP is actually the only gun I’ve ever fired where I actually noticed the recoil.

My wife carries one because she has some physical challenges and the LCP is about as heavy of a gun as she can carry. If I could find a good 3913LS for her to at least try out I wouldn’t mind putting the LCP in the safe because I am terrified of what the recoil on the gun (the LCP) is going to do to her wrists if she ever fires it in self defense
