Ruger LCP .380

I not only have one, I love it. The perfect summertime carry piece. 250 faultless rounds through before I cleaned it and accurate enough to keep all the shots on a paper plate at 7 yards offhand.

I own a first gen one. 100% reliable.
I can shoot it ok at 7 yards(4 inch groups) my buddy with large hands can't even get on the papper with it.
sights suck on it so dont expect much at the range.
great pocket pistol for 300 bucks.
look at the CW380 by Kahr before you buy one, thats my next .380

Not the LCP actually, I've got a Kel Tec P3AT which is very similar. It's my every day carry gun. It's surprisingly accurate for it's size. Recoil is a bit snappy due to the light weight but not punishing. Upon my advice a female friend bought one for her carry gun...I wondered how she would handle the recoil (she's a little bitty gal) but she did fine and shoots it well.

I had a Ruger .380 and a Kel Tec .380 and the Ruger is definitely better than the KT but I later got a Taurus TCP and it is better than the Ruger. The Taurus has a better feel, trigger, and sights and it has an external slide release lever. My TCP has been perfectly reliable and I am very accurate with it but I have noticed that Ruger is NOW putting better sights on their pistols.

I've been packin one now for over two years and it fit's right in my jeans pocket without a holster.
I fire it about once every couple of months right out of the pocket, lint and all. Never fails.

We'll, I picked one up yesterday. :D

Didn't shoot it yet so that's why I'm curious what everyone's thoughts were on it. No, I didn't get the purple one. I got the special edition carbon fiber look one.

I know we don't all own S&W and stray from home to other brands once and while. :p

Drop in my pocket in the morning and stays there until bedtime. 100% reliable with Hornady Critical Defense. That's what I started with (due to numerous LCP owner reviews) and never bothered trying anything else. If figure since this little pistol works with it, why try to fix it. Shoots well too... even for an old half blind man. I really like it.

It's small... really small... and even with the grip extension not everyone has the strength to shoot these little guns with 1 + a fraction of a finger wrapped around the grip.

I've carried one now for about as long as they have been available, somewhere around 7 years. I bought it for a carry piece and that's exactly what it is. It's not a target pistol. Any shooting I do with it is up close, in the 7 to 10 yard range. Never had any problems or jams with it. I shoot whatever ammo I can find, mostly Winchester and Remington. I find the lightweight .380 LCP pistol is actually uncomfortable to shoot for any length of time but it's not a target pistol. I practice with a few rounds now and then and that's good enough. I love my LCP. It's small enough to put in your pocket and it's always there with you.

mine shoots 3 inches low with hornady critical defence

I am expecting a pretty hard kick when shooting it. It's to be expected for such a small gun. On a quest to get some ammo for it. I will take what I can find at a reasonable price as long as it is brass and not steel casings. I need a box for practice and a good box of defense rounds too.

I have very small hands so I can get my whole hand wrapped around the grip. I find it a little more comfortable to drop my pinky finger down and under the magazine extension though.

I have the LC9. I keep with ammo commonality, and since I have other 9's, it made sense.
The pistol is very good, once you learn the trigger. FWIW, the trigger really can not be re-worked. It's a pull design, so if you lighten the spring, it does not help. If you really lighten it up, the pistol will not function correctly.
Long trigger, and heavy pull; the heaviest trigger I have ever pulled. Makes a .mil trigger on an M4 feel like a Giselle all by itself!

But overall, the pistol has been very good. It dependably fires ammo with harder primers that striker-fire pistols have trouble digesting.

115 and 124gr. ammo are much more consistently accurate in it than the 147gr. ammo.

Other than the trigger, it is a very good gun. Recoil is very manageable.

Had one and sold it to a friend that wanted it. No problems whatsoever, just not a 380 fan but later came across a S&W 380BG which I still have. Don't carry it often but wouldn't hesitate to carry the LCP or the BG if the need arose.

I have 2 TCP's. I looked at the Ruger but didn't like that it was $100+ more than the TCP. I paid $180 for mine. Not one malfunction. I love it.

I've been putting off getting one (you know for Lady Koz):D because I haven't seen .380 ammo in months. Where are you folks finding it?????

I owned one for a while before switching to the bodyguard.

I personally preferred the bodyguard's grip and the way it felt while shooting. I had no issues with the lcp. It was a fine, reliable gun. Great for pocket carry.

I have since gotten rid of the bodyguard and moved up to a 9mm with a Sig P938 which is just slightly bigger. I definitely prefer carying 9mm, but I'd be lying if I said I never eye up those little .380s now and then.

Relax. It will snap but there is no kick. It is a .380 not a .50BMG. The .380 is a fun round and a decent self defense round though not a first choice. Relax, practice, and have fun. And it will serve you well in self defense.

My son got one for his wife. They like it. My wife went with me to the LGS and they had one, she bought it and loves it.

The little gun hits just below the bulls eye at 7 yards. I can obtain small groups by squeezing the trigger slowly. I was surprised by the accuracy. It has been shot quite a bit without any failures.

You bet! I have a first generation and it's a great little gun. When I lived in California, we had to qualify with any gun we were planning on carrying concealed when we applied for a permit.

I was able to put 23 out of 25 rounds into a bowling-pin sized target at 15 yards with the LCP. Sure, it's not a target pistol, but it wasn't intended to be. It was meant to be a close-up and personal belly gun!!...and it's perfect for what it was meant to do. I also use Hornady Personal Defense ammo. I've done some tests with it and it seems to fill the bill better than any of the other ammo I've tried.
