Anyone here shot one yet?

I held one in my local gs yesterday and I'm very interested. I've never owned or even been tempted by any other Ruger revolver. But this gun seems to have a nice trigger and it shoots 9mm, one of my favorite calibers.

I haven't met anyone who's actually shot one, but read a few good reviews on line. I'd prefer to hear reports from regular folks.:D

I have a 9mm LCR that I got a couple months ago to go with my LCR 357 that I've had for a few years.

I like the 9mm.

The recoil is higher than the LCR 357 with 38 special standard pressure. But not that bad.

Both guns have a stainless steel frame, barrel and cylinder with the grip frame made of polymer (ie plastic).

The 9mm shoots accurately, but a bit low (3 in at 30 feet) with 115 gr practice ammo. I just bought some 147 gr and will try that next time I go to the range.

I had a problem with the extractor on mine when I got it, had to send it back to Ruger for repair. The total round trip time was less that 2 weeks, the repair made it perfect, and Ruger customer service was great to work with.

Moon clips are expensive right now, but probably Ranch or someone will come along with cheaper ones soon as my sense is the 9mm LCR is a popular product.

The moon clips for the LCR are great -- easier to load and unload by hand than the 45 acp variety.

Some people have trouble with crimp jump -- although not with most kinds of ammo. Some of my 115 gr reload practice rounds had a little bit of bullet pull - although not enough to cause a problem.

When I get to the point of using it for SD, I'll try different defense loads to be sure of no crimp jump.

Best to check after each round for a couple cylinders of a new ammo type so as not to tie up the gun.

In general, it is a great gun. My sense is that 9mm could be as nice a revolver cartridge as 45 acp.

I had one in 9mm and agree with everything Cal44 said the only draw back for me was you don't have many options when it comes to the grips. Don't get me wrong the grips it comes with are really nice but just makes the gun hard to conceal. They do make a smaller boot grip to fit it but I just didn't care for it. It's a bit to short and I use a clipdraw on my smith's that don't work on it. But it is a really nice gun. I do miss the nice smooth trigger.
