Ruger Security Six

i don't have a Security Six, but awhile back i bought a Service Six with 2 3/4" barrel stainless. Did some polishing on internals, added hammer and trigger shims and resulted in one of the best DA pulls i have experienced. The Service Six is a fixed sight, square butt revolver. I wanted a round butt so bought some Speed Six RB sevice grips to use for a pattern and went to work.Grip config is the RB sevice grips with a t grip adapter. I'm 62 and my eyesight ain't what it used to be so i bought a tritium XS dot sight made for a Smith and Wesson j frame and fitted it to the Service Six/Speed Six. This poor revolver has suffered from my administrations since the day i bought it(i paid $300 cash). Here she is

Zoner...

Your Service Six looks terrific. I've done the same to several square butt S&W and Ruger revolvers over the years. The round grip profile suits me much, much better.

I have a couple of the stainless 2 3/4inch Six Series guns. I bought them both as replacement for a blued Speed Six that was stolen. I still miss that one. It was just.....right.

I have seen a couple well used Speed Sixes on GB go for almost $500 each in the last year. I figure they are still popular with the folks who like to carry a small(yeah, I know) revolver.

The first handgun I ever owned was a Security Six 4 inch, bought it bran new for $97.00 + tax.
Sold it for $100 so I could buy a S&W 19 4 inch, wish I'd never have let it go.

My department-issued duty weapon was a SS 4" Security Six from about 1980 to 1990. It is a 156 series. I took the option to buy it when it was replaced with Beretta semi-auto 40 cal. I just had it out to the range yesterday, still shoots anything I put through it. It was always my favorite duty weapon.

the security six is as good as an L frame, easier to work on IMO. I'd like to have a round butted 2 3/4" Security Six

I have a 4" SS Security Six. A couple of years ago, Ruger was selling the last of their target grip stock for 156 sn guns. I wish I had bought more than one.
