Rust / Birchwood Casey Barricade or Renaissance wax?

Am on the coast and started using Birchwood Casey Sheath about 20 or so yrs ago. (Now called Barricade) When a SS revolver got a few spec's. A few yrs ago started using Renaissance wax on my knives, and a few blued guns. Was just curious what the consensus was here in regards to rust prevention between the two products.

Added, for some reason rust has been more of an issue on my SS Smiths over the blued guns?

Thanks. Have been using M-Pro 7 as a cleaner since it came out.
Maybe its time to look around...Will also check out CorrosionX.
But am still curious about Barricade V.S. Renaissance wax.

For every day usage I use Rig #2 Oil - NEVER any rust issues. For long term storage I use Rig Universal Grease = the best!

Most importantly, keep your safe dry! If you don't already have one, get a golden rod dehumidifying unit.

I’ve used Sheath/Barricade for years. Like it and wouldn’t think of wax as a substitute. Doesn’t seem like two similar products that would do the same job. If you use Barricade, I gather that success depends on following instructions. If you don’t remove surface oil, it can’t get to the metal. Lots of folks overlook that. In my case, I’ve tried to do what they say and it’s worked well.

started using Barricade for short term storage a couple years ago...actually like it...no issues at all with it....some of the others smell badly
