Bought a new ar-15 s&w .22 today, would not shoot CCI ammo or federal. Misfired 9/10 times. Tried cleaning and oil, still misfired. Tried Remington ammo and worked perfect.

I'm glad the Remington ammo worked but I shouldn't be having these issues with a brand new gun. Pin is hitting the rim, I just dont know if it's hard enough. anyone have a fix for this before I send it in?

I had similar problem when mine was new.
1st, my grip was wrong, I was holding by the mag as if I was pulling the top of the mag towards me. Also I rested the mag on the table. I had many misfires with both ways.
2nd, loading the mag was wrong. Your ammo should always staggered when loading the ammo to the mag. Also had misfires.

After changing all of the above, I did not have single misfire thru the day and its been about 1k+ rounds.

Hope this helps!

PS: mine eats every ammo i feed from CCI minimag, std velocity and the bulk Federals.

That is pretty bizarre. My limited experience with semi auto firearms has always been that a lot of them won't run decent with those Remington rounds, but the problem goes away with CCI. A friend had a similar problem with his 223 AR when we went shooting. His had the push knob and if you pushed the bolt forward a little, it would fire. Later we found some loose part flopping around in there. That is where I bowed out of the problem. I guess, if there is a way to use a gloved hand and push the bolt forward if possible, you can see if you get a better firing pin strike. If that happens, not sure of the cure, but making sure the bolt moves freely would be a start. What to do? I would not send it back immediately. Shoot it a bunch with the Remingtons and then later go back to some of the other ammo. Also, I would wait for any other forum members that might know a quick fix or what you are doing wrong. Good luck, don't be in a hurry. It is disappointing, but it could be something simple.

Mine had about 6-7 misfires in about 200 rounds. But after loading those misfires back up it fired them. So anyway I tried the tandemkross titanium firing pin. It was much much worse. Maybe shot 3 or 4 out of 10 rounds. Tried and tried and didn't change. Called them and they sent out a 2nd one to try. Same issue. So I shipped them back and they refunded me. Also they paid for shipping back. Put me on a list to try out a new pin if it were to be redesigned. A few months later they contacted me and shipped me a new one to test for free. Same issue. Sounds like my gun is kind of a one off with this problem and their pin. I dunno. I just threw the stock pin back in and will use that.

Not a one off. I had the same experience with their titanium firing pin in one of mine. Only ordered it because S&W said they were out of stock on firing pins at the time. I didn't send mine back, though. Just chalked it up to experience.
