My newly aquired 1911!

I have more S&W guns in my safe then Sig. I just want something Diff. to shoot 9 mm. My LGS knows i want the new S&W 9mm Rev. The Sig P210 makes the Silver Target. Take a look Sig P210 Silver Target

I have a P229 Elite Stainless, cost me something like 1040 bucks back in 2008. All told it may have 1500 rounds downrange because it's so smooth shooting I actually find it a bit boring to shoot. With my 1911's I am NEVER bored, they are simply flat fun to shoot. Also like the grip on a 1911 a lot more than the fat grip on the Sig.

My vote is for a 1911 of any flavor. BTW, my 1911's are Rugers because the E series Smiths have been unobtanium recently. If I EVER see the Stainless Government E series again it will go home with me, budget be damned.

I have both the sig 226 equinox in 40 and the e series. I would go with the e series. Feels so much better. I loved my sig until I bought the Smith

Then get a 9mm Hi Power or a .357 Sig p229. The E Series look nice but you have to realize that they are bigger and do not conceal as well. I am not a fan of a 1911 carry gun even in commander size but you have to get what you want. I have a Sig P228 that I love and a Colt Gold Cup National Match. Having owned several custom 1911s, I can tell you that they often let me down or felt no different than shooting my 3rd Smiths, Hi Power or even the Sig and I found myself generally more accurate or able to handle the other pistols better.

If you do not already have a 1911 and own several Sigs then I would say get the 1911 but realize it is a big caliber and single action. The 1911s do seem to have a larger following.

The answer to this question is kinda like picking a draught in your local craft brewery. They're all excellent in their own way, and yet they all offer something different. It's very difficult for me to compare a SA/DA semi-auto with a high capacity magazine to a 5' barreled 1911 style pistol. In some ways, the Sig wins, in other ways, the 1911 wins (I'd also take a Sig in this category, but that's a different discussion). With the accessory rail, the 1911 in .45 ACP is a perfect home defense weapon. The Sig, on the other hand, is fun to shoot, and a little easier to carry around with you. Pick the one that makes you happy right now, and buy the other one next. (Unless, of course, that perfect Model 10-5 comes along before . . . )
